Without doubt, it was a grand affair, what with
the Keralites’ taste for being culturally tasteful.. The members and the
managing committee of BMS ensured the grandeur of celebration befitting the
occasion was presented.
It did start with the usual hiccups as far as the
Chief Guest was concerned, the team met Shri A K Anthony, our Defence minister
and also met Shri, K Shankanarayanan the Governor of Maharashtra – but both of
them could not come due to important engagements. The big thing is that the
bouquet of BMS and the greetings of each of you members of BMS reached our
Defence Minister and the Governor of Maharashtra.
Our First President of BMS – Shri K A Ooomman was
the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor was Shri M P Ramachandran – MD of Jyothy
Laboratories Ltd.
The President - Mr. Shriraj Nair endorsed his commitment to the Samajam by pledging to turn our School project to a land mark Educational andSports Center and to ensure all our services
like Diagnostic Centre and Ayurvedic Panchkarma Centre are made available to
all sections of the society.
Mr. Anil Kumar - the Secretary also addressed the gathering and gave an impromptu assessment of the years that went by and the commitment of the committee to ensure that the Samajam reach great heights not just within the Malayalis but also among other communities.

The Cultural Extravaganza on the 11th February
interspersed with the felicitation ceremony of those who were part of the
Samajam for the last 25 years, went exceedingly well with the cheers and
accolades of those present.
The 2nd
day celebration on 12th February was a fund raising program, and
hence we had renowned performers like Biju Narayanan, Durga Vishwanath, Salish
Syam, Rekha, Kalabhavan Ravindran, Kalabhavan Pradeep Lal and their Troupe.
All those who were there enjoyed and went back
home with pleasant memories of the achievements of their Samajams Golden
Jubilee celebrations and those who were unfortunate to be present can update
themselves with the snaps below.
Cheers to the Samajam and Cheers to all those
wonderful people who put their soul and mind to ensure that a great program was
hosted.
The Samajam takes great pride in thanking each one
of the audience, without whom we would have lacked the enthusiasm and the vibrancy
of our performance.
The audience was approximately 1000 people consisting
of elite invitees, members and their family from in and around Borivli, and
representatives from other Samajams of Kerala origin who attended the event.
The entire event was held in the
beautifully scaped lawn of Borivli
